INTRODUCING OUR 5-PART SERIES:

THE PASCHAL MYSTERY,

JOY, AND DIVINE MERCY

In preparation for the upcoming Lenten season, Holy Week and Easter, we introduced this series in our earlier blog. Six articles are included on “The Paschal Mystery, Joy, and Divine Mercy” theme. There will be many thoughts presented on these well-known subjects. They include:

~Our Savior’s death and resurrection, along with various aspects of these mysteries.

~The joy that contains His and our motivation and strength through trials.

~God’s ever-present loving kindness and mercy that is so incomprehensible.

Some parts will be anthologies and quotes… some new meditative, inspirational reflections… and most are mixed.

These topics are inter-woven. At the heart of our faith in God, Who is Love, they wind their way through scripture, throughout papal documents, and in previous blog writings. Hopefully, all of us will gladly renew (or now begin) our desire to seek the Lord’s hand in knitting them into the fabric of our own lives.

Resurrection, restoration, and joy become the grand finale of Our Lord’s tribulation-filled life, tortuous Passion, and horrific crucifixion. When we “take up our cross and follow” Him, we, too, walk that road toward a joyous, resurrection “grand finale”.

The Lenten season starts on February 26th—on Ash Wednesday.

Look for this Paschal series over the next few weeks, both before Ash Wednesday and into the season of Lent…

~as we commemorate Holy Week,

~celebrate Easter Sunday on April 12th

~and look forward to Divine Mercy Sunday.

The series, PASCHAL MYSTERY, JOY, AND DIVINE MERCY, includes:

PART I: LOVE'S PASSIONATE DEATH leads to GLORIOUS RESURRECTION –PASCHAL MERCY

PART II: THE CROSS of CHRIST…THE “JOY” OF IT?

PASSION and DEATH lead to JOYOUS RESURRECTION

PART II B, FINDING JOY—CONCLUDING COMMENTS and

SCRIPTURES

PART III: "PASCHAL MYSTERY VICTORY—

TO LIVE IS CHRIST; TO DIE IS GAIN”

~Joy in the midst of pain

~ Dying and rising with Christ

~Joy comes in the morning

PART IV: MORE THAN 30 PIECES OF SILVER--THE PRICE JESUS PAID FOR OUR SALVATION

Before this series gets started, we just posted the blog:

CONFIRMATION:

WELCOMING New Life

in and with the HOLY SPIRIT

Coming more fully into the presence and power

of the Holy Spirit.

This article covers much about both related topics. Confirmations are scheduled throughout several months of the year—with many in the spring—so we are taking time here to share this blog.

In addition to our Paschal series being posted over the next few weeks, we also honor three outstanding saints in February and March.

There is no doubt that the details of the life of Saint Valentine and Saint Patrick may both interest and surprise you. Discover the brave life of St. Valentine, and the “action-hero”-type behavior of St. Patrick. It is quite fitting that their names are connected with two feast days that we celebrate culturally even today. Find out the rich history behind those days.

Saint Joseph is also commemorated in March (two days after St. Patrick) on March 19th. Besides his being a favorite Irish saint, St. Patrick is also distinguished by his amazingly mighty prayer (St. Patrick's Breastplate). It will become evident how he could have developed such a spiritual-warrior’s prayer after a brief look at some of his awesome deeds done with great Holy Spirit power and wisdom.

St. Joseph filled a unique, important and vital role in salvation history, and we honor him with some appreciative insights and glad recognition. Take time to ‘take another look’ at this strong and loving husband and father—God’s glorious choice for Mary and Jesus.

We look forward to your joining us here!
