INTRODUCTION to the series:THE PASCHAL MYSTERY, JOY, AND DIVINE MERCY

INTRODUCING OUR 5-PART SERIES:

THE PASCHAL MYSTERY,

JOY, AND DIVINE MERCY

In preparation for the upcoming Lenten season, Holy Week and Easter, we introduce the 5-part series on “The Paschal Mystery, Joy, and Divine Mercy”.

These topics are interwoven. At the heart of our faith, they wind their way through scripture, throughout papal documents, and in previous blog writings. Hopefully, we will gladly renew (or begin now) our desire to seek the Lord’s hand in knitting them into the fabric of our own lives.

Resurrection, restoration, and joy become the grand finale of Our Lord’s tribulation-filled life, tortuous Passion, and horrific crucifixion. When we “take up our cross and follow” Him, we, too, walk that road toward that joyous, resurrection “grand finale”.

The Lenten season starts several weeks later this year than last year. It begins on March 6th, in another two weeks—on Ash Wednesday.

Look for this Paschal series over the next few weeks, both before Ash Wednesday and into the season of Lent…

~as we commemorate Holy Week,

~celebrate Easter Sunday,

~and look forward to Divine Mercy Sunday.

The five-part series, PASCHAL MYSTERY, JOY, AND DIVINE MERCY, includes:

PART I: LOVE'S PASSIONATE DEATH leads to GLORIOUS RESURRECTION --

PASCHAL MERCY

PART II: THE CROSS of CHRIST…THE “JOY” OF IT?

PASSION and DEATH lead to JOYOUS RESURRECTION

PART II B, FINDING JOY—CONCLUDING COMMENTS and

THE JOY OF THE GOSPEL, selected quotes

PART III: "PASCHAL MYSTERY VICTORY--

TO LIVE IS CHRIST; TO DIE IS GAIN”

PART IV: THE HEART OF THE TRINITY: LOVE AND MERCY—

SEEING IT, RECEIVING IT AND WALKING IN IT

PART V: DIVINE MERCY THEME IN PAPAL WRITINGS

Before this series gets started, we first post

CONFIRMATION AND BEYOND:

LIFE IN AND WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT.

This article covers much about both related topics. Confirmations are scheduled throughout several months of the year--with many in the spring-- so we are taking time here to share this blog.

In addition to our Paschal series being posted over the next few weeks, we also honor Saint Patrick and Saint Joseph in March commemorating their respective feast days: March 17th and March 19th.

Besides his being a favorite Irish saint, St. Patrick is also distinguished by his amazingly mighty prayer (St. Patrick's Breastplate) and awesome deeds done with great Holy Spirit power and wisdom.

St. Joseph filled a very unique, important and vital role in salvation history, and we honor him with some appreciative insights and glad recognition.

We look forward to your joining us here!
